We have moved our tennis section back upstairs and made it much easier to get around.
Anything you need for tennis is in this section whether it is mens footwear, womens clothing or something for the future star, you'll now find it all in one area.

TECHNIFIBRE NEWS

NEW SEASON - NEW STRINGS.

As said in one of my earlier posts, racket restringing is a very important part of maintaining your performance level and getting the most out of the racket frame you have.
Various elements affect the quality of your strings, the amount of tennis you play. the guide line is, if you play 3-4 times a week, you should have your racket strung every 3 months. If you play 1-2 times a week, you should get a restring every 6 months.
The weather also affects strings badly. Here the most common weather is damp or wet and this makes the strings lifeless, resulting in a loss of power.
If you haven't played for a while, like a winter break, the most common occurence here is slacking of the strings. Most rackets are strung with one string, (2 knots to tie off string)this over time slips and results in strings become loose, again resulting in loss of power.

So what are you waiting for, put new life into your racket now and give yourself a fresh start to the New Year.

For those of you who may looking at our blog for the first time or for those of you who pop in out regularly, welcome to 2010.
Our aim in all our sports is to be the best that we can be and I think in 2009 we took big strides forward.

We added to our list of tennis coaches that help us to stay on top of the game.

We added new brands Volkl, Fischer and Technifibre to our large range of rackets.

We took our tennis department on the road to Limerick, and would love to go to your area, so if interested please contact me at rleahy@mahersports.ie

We set up this tennis blog, where we are constantly adding offers and giving you access to new technologies just out or due out.
